This past June, out of curiosity I took the SAT I. With no studying whatsoever. I know it was a dumb idea, but I wanted to see how I would fare in real testing conditions
Overall I didn't find it to be overly difficult, but it was too damn long lol

anyways I got an 1800. Since I didn't really have time to study with other SAT II's, AP's,etc I don't really know how to interpret that.
My essay was my worst score and math was by far the best.

Anyways, is it a realistic goal to raise my score like 300 points to over a 2100. Hopefull more.

and to accomplish such a bounce, is just self studying sufficient or would I most likely need to hire a tutor?

thanks
I would appreciate if you guys could tell me your study methods and it they helped.

Tutors usually won't teach you more than what you already know.
For Math and Writing, learn the concepts and rules.
For CR, learn vocab and build stamina

Study everyday during winter and spring break then take the SAT after school ends. If it's not what you want, take it in Oct after studying during summer.

I would say that that is completely realistic...I took a full-length SAT test without any studying and scored about 1850 a few months ago, have been attending SAT prep for about 6 weeks, and have pulled my score up to about 2090.

I think prep classes are a lot more helpful than self-study, but that's just personal opinion.

i rose from 1590 to 2030. one thing i regret is i wish i prepared earlier like you so i could get higher.

honestly though, i'm quite lazy and im fortunate that my parents were wealthy enough to send me to SAT school; i really needed that outer motivation. its all really the kind of person you are. i know my brother self studied it and got a perfect score which is something that i would never be able to do.
