Advice for Safety/Possibles?

I'm top in my class so I have University of Texas as my safety, and will apply to one of the honors programs. Other than that I mostly just have reaches... Rice, Yale, Princeton, U Penn, maybe MIT just to see if I get in. I want to major in math, but I don't want to tie myself down to a technical career. I'm looking for smaller schools (<5000, i know u penn is big) in the Northeast with nice residential life communities.

Anyone have some advice for choosing some likely / possibles?

I think you may have to look at liberal arts colleges to find <5000 students in the northeast. There are a large variety of them, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Generally, strong math departments are found at overall strong colleges.

You can do a lot with a math degree. Major in what you enjoy.

I like your list, and you can’t go wrong with UT as a back-up.

Best of luck to you.
