Advice for visiting Emory

Hi, I am going to visit Emory in early January. I am just wondering what should I go check out once I am there? Please let me know.

Thanks

This may have some info:
[Emory University - Videos, Photos, and Visit Reports](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vibe/emory-university/)

Do the touristy stuff like going to Coca Cola world or the Aquarium if you’d like, but besides that, I’d just try to enjoy yourself and get a good feel of the school itself. I’d leisurely walk around checking out the campus, get some lunch, just scope things out. If you have any friends there you can obviously hang out with them / stay over a night

On campus: Carlos Museum, Cox Food Court, Dobbs University Center (the DUC), Emory Bookstore including Starbucks, Woodruff Library including Shatten Gallery and Matheson Reading Room, Woodruff PE Center (the WoodPEC). Ride the free shuttle to Clairmont Campus and back. Walk in Lullwater Preserve.

Across the Street at Emory Village: Rise n Dine Coffee Shop, etcetera.

Off Campus: Little Five Points (make sure of the "Little), Lenox Square (shopping), Virginia Highlands (restaurants).

Bring an umbrella, it rains a lot in January. But just make sure to visit the freshman dorms, the library (if you can?), the Carlos museum, the bookstore/Starbucks, Emory Village (Doc Chey’s and Rise and Dine are great!), the WoodPEC, Lullwater Park, Clairmont Campus.

When I visited campus last spring a student gave us a tip about some cool sightseeing. The top floor of the Woodruff Library has a balcony with a 360 degree view of campus! The security guards are usually pretty nice about letting visitors in, as long as you have some form of ID. Ask for directions to MARBL (the rare books library). When you get up to the top floor, the librarian at the MARBL desk can show you how to get outside… On nice days you can see a lot of Atlanta.
Also, if you want a sweet treat, Yogli Mogli across from the admissions office is perfect (though may be a little cold for January weather!)

^ agreed.
but omg you have to try falafel king.

If the weather is good, definitely take a relaxing stroll in Lullwater park. Eat at the DUC and see if you like the food. Sit on one of the quads and see if you like what you see…do the same by spending some time reading in the library.

Make an appointment with a professor or two…they are very accessible.
