Advice from the Mass.

High School GPA

UW: 3.1
W:4.1

SAT: 1350 (I only took it once, and I actually fell asleep whilst taking the exam. I did not, however, write that into my applications).

I spent my essay detailing my 3 years of work experience, motives and accomplishments; as well as my interest in being a Linguist, having come from an immigrant family in the extraordinarily diverse City of Greater Miami.

I'm currently enrolled in a CC, and have been for only one semester. During which, I took 17 credits, and got all A's (my College does not rank, nor does it offer A+s or A-s). I'm currently taking 13 credits, if I remember correctly; to wit: Calculus 2, a political science class, Intro to Cultural Anthropology, and Biology.

I got my Letter of Recommendation from the English Department Chair, and A glowing review from my English teacher and a Humanities professor.

I applied to:

Temple
Norhteastern
Boston University
Boston College

I don't expect much, but here goes.

The 1350 is out of 1600, right? I think you have good chances at all, with Boston College as the highest reach.

Ah, yeah, I keep forgetting that I have to clarify between the 1600 and 2400 versions of the SAT.

Yes, my 1350 is out of 1600.

Thanks for the response, skp.

temple, northeastern = In
BU=high match
BC=reach

Thanks for the words, Optis. I'm hoping for some good results, but, for whatever reason, it's tough not to be at least a little cynical. All part of the process, I guess.

On the up and up, again^
