"How did you fulfill the philosophy prereqs for berkeley? i thought those prereqs weren't offered at any CCC. If have those fulfilled with good grades then thats a definate big plus since most transfers don't have them fulfilled because they're not available."

yeah... they aren't offered anywhere (at least anywhere that i know of..).

however, if you took classes with similar titles, once accepted, you can talk to the head of the department to see whether they'll consider your classes articulated.
personally, i've already taken modern, ancient and logic (both 'in practice' and 'symbolic'). the woman at the socal berkeley transfer office said that it's not uncommon for those to count as having satisfied berkeley's requirements.

and yeah.. phil only has 3 pre reqs. also, depending on the campus you're applying to and the concentration you'd like to pursue, they suggest that you take one additional class from a list on assist.
ugh... i'll have taken 8 phil department classes by the end of this semester. 7 A's, 1 C (in intro, from 4 years ago). i hope that's enough to appease those fat cats.

pinker, how did you get those stats? statfinder?

yeah... i got sick of looking up the same stats over and over and finally just copied them down.

The new GI bill doesn't come into effect till August thereabouts. According to my veterans advisor the VA is still working on the logistics of it. There's also some details that the bill didn't address. One of the sticking points right now has to do with online classes. For some reason you don't get the BAH under the new GI bill if you're taking online classes. It also doesn't seem to make a distinction between full and part time students. So basically even the though the law passed they still have a bunch of things to work out and August is a tentative start date for it to be available as an option.

some of the stats are pretty good ...kinda makes me feel that i may have a shot at UCLA as a psychology major !! :D

What's up bassplrflea, USMC0311, usmc_izzy....

I'm a 26 year old Marine Vet too.

I've been trolling on here since I submitted my applications on November 30th and this USMC reunion made me post for my second time. I was accepted to UCI a couple weeks ago for Political Science (missing prerequisites) and I’m still waiting on UCSD (PS), UCLA (PS), and UCB (Haas). I have a 3.81 GPA, IGETC done, all Haas prerequisites done, decent essays…

Bassplrflea, I’m pretty certain you’ll get into a UC. You have done all the required work that is possible and there is no need to stress. In about a month we all know what zip code we’ll be living in the fall and how much BAH is headed our way, haha.

Nevermind....i just got accepted to UCSB!!!!!!!!

congrats :)
