Hi, I am a newbie here. So I'll be attending Rice this coming fall. Right now, I am facing a dilemma. I just recently became very interested in architecture, and today I found out that I will not be able to apply for Rice's architecture program. Basically, I am too late. The option I am left with is this intramural transfer that I can apply next January. This means that I won't be able to start architecture as a freshmen, and i know how difficult it is to be a transfer architecture student. My back up plan is computer science. I really want to try architecture to see if I am any good at it though because base on the research I've done so far, it sounds like something I could develope a passion for. I know I probably need to delve deeper into architecture to see what it's actually going to be like, so any good resources that can help me gain some perspective into the field would be appreciated. Can someone please help me figure out what I should do? How should I structure my class next year as a freshman? Thanks.

Hey I’m in architecture for the fall! I wish I could help you straight up right now but I haven’t exactly started yet either so I’m not too sure. All I can give you right now is maybe look at the School of Architecture’s website - the curriculum is on there. If you have Facebook, there’s a Rice Class of '13 group and you could probably start a topic on there and have a current student respond. Alternatively you could email someone/faculty at the School of Architecture for help/advice.

Hope this helps!
