I would like some input on Cornell v. WashU for premed. I desperately need advice as I need to make my decision within a week. I visited both, enjoyed them and I can picture myself at either school. I value the idea of an ivy league education but I know WashU is right up there. Grade deflation/bell curve grading is a turn off for me (at Cornell). I don't know how they grade premed courses at WashU so input on that would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

i PERSONALLY BELIEVE that you ouhgt tp try pit the dorm. im going to go for a single because all of the archies said to. we should hang out, you i and weston, though.

Not premed, so really can’t speak of those courses, but don’t believe the median grades at Cornell are meaningfully different than other top schools. And it’s a very beautiful place… Good luck DocHopeful. Btw, ArarVen is trying to get off the Cornell waitlist, and thus not a good source of objective info.

Haha yes I’m weary of things like that. I’ve decided that I’m going to Cornell, it’s just a better fit for me if I look at the entire package of both schools. Thanks!

Congrats DocHopeful, and again good luck!

These are both excellent pre-med schools, both have very rigorous curriculum. Cornell has a stronger biology focus in its CAS, CALS, and school of Human Ecology, with excellent research opportunities. WashU is a highly-reputable university with plenty of opportunities to volunteer in local St. Louis clinics.

Good luck with your selection. Neither school will limit your Medical School opportunities in any way.

Although, at Cornell, You won’t have to worry about spending the rest of life explaining the difference between U-Dub, WashU, and GWU…

Cornell grade deflation is a myth:
