Advice needed from parents of D1 athletes

NorthMinnesota,
D recently spent over 30 hours preparing just for 1 test in Org. Chem. She got her grade, but average was 63% with 50% = failed (the most of the class definately did not spend their 30 hours). She cannot afford this, she will be automatically kicked out of her program. Since she could not afford any other homework, she had to catch up with it after test. There is no way that she would be spending 6 hours / day that was required by her varsity swimming. But it might work for other sports / major combo. She has always been in sport and very efficient in her time usage. She was studying for this test even walking from one class to another. Chem is her strongest subject as she works for General Chem prof as supplemental instructor.

There is now an athletic recruit forum.

^^ Thanks Mods!!!!

Hi this thread has long ended but Im a senior in college, and am trying to decide whether to go to a top ivy D1 school or a top D3 school. Both are academically the same in my eyes, I’m just trying to decide which one I would want to go to for my sport. I’m being heavily recruited by both. I don’t know whether I want to play D1 hockey which is obviously very tempting and quit my extracuricculars or play D3 hockey and have time for them.

I’m sorry I meant I am in a senior in high school!
