Advice needed! =)

Took the ACT in September as a high school junior after studying for most of the summer. The goal was to get good scores the first time to avoid having to re take the ACT or take the SAT.

Scores:
Composite- 33
English- 36
Math- 29
Reading- 32
Science- 36

I haven't gotten writing score yet, but I think I did pretty well.

I want to apply to UPenn, Yale, Princeton, Gtown, George Washington U and Tufts.

Most of these colleges don't super score the ACT, so is it worth it to take it again to bring up my math grade? I plan to major in International Relations.

(I also have taken two SATs [World History-800] and [Bio-800] and plan to take a third.)

Thanks so much!

Also I just received my writing score- a 10, which makes my English composite a 34

What would you like to study/major in? If it doesn’t have to do with math, I wouldnt take it again. If you’re a junior, you can always take it again next year when you will (most likely) be more knowledgable on these topics and maybe get a higher score in all sections.

I mean I cannot really improve science or English lol

I want to major in International Relations.

I want to major in that too! :)

I don’t think it will be a big problem but if it turns out it might be one, you can always take it October of your senior year…

Are you planning on taking the SAT? If you do well on that, I don’t think colleges will mind. Or, you could take the Math 1 and/or 2 SAT subject test.

=) cool! haha I don’t plan to take the SAT, but I might take the SAT II in Math one after I finish pre calc this year. I think if I do well on that it will make up for it. (the key is doing well haha)

I might retake the ACT in June of this year (after I finish Pre Calc) if the majority of schools I want to apply to superscore. I’m not too sure though =/

I suggest you take the Math II and try to get at least… 750? That will probably balance it out.

I would wait as well. Besides, if you’re a junior you won’t really know what colleges you would like to apply to until after you get your first semester grades…

Those other SAT II scores are amazing though so you’ll still be a very strong applicant in a college’s eyes!!
