I didn't revise / practice for Writing for the May 07 test, that's why it went down.

I'm pretty much sick of SAT. I'm doing A Level Math, which is like 3 times harder than SAT I Math, and I end up making silly mistakes everytime. For the Dec 07 one, I actually ran out of time in 2 out of 3 sections, so I omitted 5 questions; I think I screwed up 3, ending up wit a 670 (again! :()

I was scoring between 650-700 in CR in Practice Tests for my Prep for Dec 07, but CR didn't budge. Oh well :(

I don't want to retake the SAT I again, but if I don't get accepted in any of my colleges, I guess I'll end up taking a gap year and doing SAT I again. :(

So any advice anyone? Should I stop here and apply without worrying about my scores? Any advice would be helpful! :)

You can get a 700+ on each section, and you don't have to study. Focusing on test day and making no careless mistakes is the best way to get the perfect score. IF you focus on the passages, questions look easier. If you spend an extra 5-10 seconds trying to understand a math question more even if you already think you know what it's asking, you'll have a better chance of scoring. Take it again because you know that you can get a 700 if you just focus.

Why do you ask that, because of his name? It's definitely Indian/Pakistani(from the Hindi movie Jadu); still, what's the importance? Is he citizen or not, and if not, he gets something special?

WAIT, Asif Khan, I remember that name! Did you go go to Spring Valley High School(or it might be Dutch Fork) and did you get a 2400? Did you also play on the South Carolina math team?

And Booth Achia back to you. I still don't imagine anyone just randomly naming themselves Asif Khan(btw I read your name in the newspaper about how you got a perfect score and were on our state's Math team and you guys went quite far. Do you remember one of my friends, Shobit Visnui), so it has to be him.

are u applying as international student?
Um no, I'm a US citizen, but am currently attending an international school in India.

Namaste to all the Indians out there.

Namaste to you too! :D

@ RahoulVA : Hi, yeah if I have to take the SAT again, I'll definitely take your advice into stride. I'm pretty sure I was really nervous during the whole test in December, which did lead to lack of concentration at times. It didn't help that the lights went out in the middle of a math section ... :( . Oh well, its not like that affected my score or anything.

Have you taken the ACT? Some students test better in that than the SAT.
I don't think the ACT is offered in my country, unfortunately.

All three sets of scores are essentially the same, except for the 580 on the second set, which will be ignored by admissions.

I'd say you've hit your stride, and your scores are what they are. Work on the other aspects of your admissions package instead of retaking.

Thanks, I think I'm beginning to agree with you. I'd rather work on the rest - essays, keeping my GPA up in the Final Report, extracurriculars - anyway, cause it seems I've reached my limit...

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I got the answer I was looking for...

Yes, I'm Indian, but born in US.

I guess asifkhan refers to the fact that lots (seriously lots) of Indians apply as International Students, many having stellar (i.e. really really good) SAT scores (a girl in my class has the highest, 1560/2310 lol), so competition is tough. I don't think there is any difference if you are a citizen or not though; all I heard is that International Students have a lot of loan-based aids whereas US Citizens get less loan-based aids (I heard that from my guidance counselor). So, in the end no bias. Anyway, from what I've heard everywhere, its the total package of GPA, SAT I and II, ECs that makes the decision...

Yup, I am getting sick with the SAT too (:, especially the essay part. You got such a great writing score. How bout the SAT 2 math 2? Some do better in tht compared to SAT 1 Math.
U are using ur real name here? Is tht safe?

emm......there's not just ONE Asif Khan in the US RahoulVA! I am not your Asif Khan w/ 2400 SAT Score!!!!!!

Okay, so the reason I asked whether you are applying as an international Student is because of the fact that you were rather too concerned of ur SAT SCore which makes sense if you are international....if you are NOT intl.....then, you don't quite have to be that much concerned....I'm sure I don't have to go into details of why I'm saying so right? ;)

I could have considered a different Asif Khan, but I looked at some of your previous posts and it looked like you went to UNC, which is right next to South Carolina. It would also seem ideal that the 2400 Asif Khan would be on a SAT forum, which shows that he was involved with it.

By the randomly naming themselves Asif Khan message, I thought that someone might have named themselves after the one who got the 2400. He did more than just that though: he was on the SC math team(which placed quite high in the national tournament), nominated for Presidential Scholar, and a whole bunch of other awards.

^oh, okay I see! u've justifications behind ur comments! no, I'm just a HSer! I've long time till college. :D besides..I hardly post at SAT forum...I used to...A LOT initially...that's what almost all CCers do.....the very first time they are at CC.
