Advice Needed

I posted a similar thread on the University of Texas site, but I want opinions from people who go to Rutgers (sorry if this is not allowed).

So basically I'm a Texas student. I applied and got into Rutgers SAS Honors Program with a $40,000 scholarship. I also applied to the University of Texas, got accepted but got rejected from the majors I wanted to pursue (The College of Communication). I'm not sure what my chances are for transferring when I'm enrolled. UT is higher ranked than Rutgers and people say a better school. As it would cost the same basically to go to Rutgers as an OOS student with the scholarship as in-state for UT, what is my best option?

Thanks for your help!

well out of state students have to pay 20000 in tutiton and another 10000ish in dorming.

yes I know. With the scholarship it would come down to around 20000 a year, which is basically around the same for UT because it has high housing costs.

I would go on the UT forum to ask about the difficulty of transferring. Rutgers isn't a terrible school, so if you are ardent about pursuing your desired major, go to Rutgers. If you're still vacillating about what you want to do and you prefer the atmosphere of UT, go there. It all depends on a lot of factors. That's just my opinion of course.
