Hello all,

I'm a 21 year old white male who's finishing up on my Associate's Degree from my local community college at the end of the Fall Semester. I live on Long Island. I'm going to finish with around a 3.1 GPA which will give me my Associate's in Liberal Art's.

My career goal is to be involved in sports journalism. I have not decided as to whether I wish to fulfill this in broadcast, or print journalism. I feel that I have strength in both areas, with a slight edge to the broadcasting side. I feel that my opinion and my ability to communicate is my biggest asset. I wouldn't mind doing something in both sides of journalism.

With all that said, it's almost time for me to transfer from my two-year school. I would like to go to a school in New York City. Growing up on Long Island, I've frequented the City at various points throughout my life, and I just love the atmosphere. I was wondering if anyone could provide any suggestions to good communication/journalism schools that are relatively close to New York City. I've been looking at St. John's but I don't know how their communications/journalism program is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Pete
