Advice needed

Hi everyone!

Few months ago I was looking for some information about the admission process and procedures of "How to get to Harvard" and there it was - College Confidential came up.

I was a guest here, but now a time has come to register and ask for Your opinion. Well, for first - I'm not a U.S. citizen - I was born in Poland, raised in Germany and my parents decided that I should return to Poland to get a higher education. And I got it - since March 12 I'm a MSc in Economics (at one of polish universities).

I've already started my professional career at one of the Big Four companies. Due to my accomplishments I will be transferred to the London office and there I will be taking my SATI and SATII tests. But is it worth it? Of course it is - I've always wanted to study at Harvard, but I wonder what is Your opinion about this situation - I am 24 years old, got a great job and so on. From the things I've ever dreamed of almost all of them became reality. The only one that's left is Harvard.

What do You think about taking a shot and sending my application? How does Harvard look at foreign students who have already successfully built their own career and theoretically don't need any further academic education?

PS. I've chosen HLS.

If you’re going for Harvard Law School, you don’t need to take any SATs. For law, you need to take the LSAT. This forum deals with Harvard College, the undergraduate part of Harvard University. I’d recommend emailing Harvard Law School to get the best information.

Thanks;) But from my point of view it seems to be more difficult than it is for You as a U.S. citizen. Beside economics I am studying at two other faculties and we have quite different grading system. In my country You can get a grade between 2 (lowest - You can’t pass with this grade) and 5 (highest). My grade average is about 4.0-4.5 (depends on which faculty we are talking about). Polish educational system isn’t equal for everyone. There is a huge difference between private and public schools. In one school You may be doing Your best and barely pass while in the other You can do absolutely nothing and pass with the highest score possible. I’m studying at universities from the first group, so I am proud of my average, however to provide comparison I think it would be better if I take the SATs before taking LSAT. Don’t You think it may be helpful? Correct me if I’m wrong.

No, there’s no point at all in taking the SAT if your goal is to get a U.S. law degree.
