Advice on applying to MBA programs for student with very poor GPA but good GRE scores

Hello,

I wanted some advice on what to do in my situation. I would like to go to a good online MBA program, but most of them require a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and I had a 2.5 in my undergrad years (granted I did major in Electrical Engineering where low GPA aren’t uncommon). But I have been average around 162 on the verbal and 165 on the math section for the GRE, and interned for three Fortune 500 tech companies and currently work at one of the elite companies in my industry.

I was wondering what kind of MBA programs I should apply for? Do I have a shot at some of the Public Ivy schools with my profile or will my GPA basically relegate me to the University of Phoenix types? A counselor also suggested to me to take a few graduate level classes to show grad schools that I am capable of handling graduate level coursework. Would that be a good idea?

Thanks in advancr

You need at least two years of work experience.

Building an alternative transcript in Statistics, Accounting, Microeconomic Theory etc might be a good idea. Also, take real math and stochastics etc if you already have differential equation and linear algebra. If you earn A grades in these courses and have great work experience then you could have a shot at top business schools.
