I am a current junior in high school and am looking into schools like Texas, Colorado, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Penn State. Throughout my whole junior year I have gone out and partied with my friends quite at lot (almost every weekend). I have done a good job (I think) to balance partying and school because I have gotten all A's throughout the school year despite my tough class schedule. I am very scared of going away to college and getting sucked in to partying a lot and having my grades drop. Please give me advice on how to go about balancing school and parties.

Sunday through Wednesday nights, work hard.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights have fun…and if you need to stay in to do work, then do it.

You just have to know when to prioritize. I party occasionally when it’s favorable and I don’t have any obligations that would distract me. The only part of when partying becomes a problem is if the partying is more important then writing your essays and studying for tests.

It sounds like you have fairly good judgment already. You know when it’s important to hit the books and then it’s a decent time to let loose.

Well, your grades will probably drop regardless of whether or not you party during your initial transition. How much to party is a thing that each person needs to find out for themselves. Some people can do it a lot and still do well, others can’t.

any more help?.. please
