hey I have been admitted to UMD (full ride), UVA (OOS, Echols Scholars), Berkeley (OOS), Duke, Cornell...

could someone please give me advice on which school I should pick for undergrad?...I would like to go into the medical field in the future.
Its just that the financial side of UMD is so attractive...

We'll let me start by asking the most important question, is cost a problem for you or do you come from a well to do family that has money for your college experience?

UMD does not even have good medical options on campus. I think you would have to go to UMD Baltimore. For premed, I would definitely say Duke and Cornell are at the top of the game out of all those schools. Duke and Cornell are two of the countries most prestigious university focused on science and medical majors.

i would chose UVa in a heart beat...best college experience anyone can find in my opinion...of course, duke is duke and cornell is an ivy..and for med they are at the top of the field...chose between uva, duke and cornell

Our S decided on Duke because he really enjoyed the size, weather, sports scene, really bright students, beautiful campus, DukeEgage program, graduate opportunities and buzz of the campus.

Cornell was just never a consideration...location, weather, social atmosphere etc.

UVA is a great school but wasn't enough better than UMD to spend the extra money.

UCB was too far away for his liking, enormous, too competitive, and just about as expensive as Duke.

UMD didn't offer him an extra-ordinary experience, it would have been an extension of his public HS years with great academics. However, the B/K was OH....so tempting.
