Hey there, I am from Malaysia and currently doing my a levels. I am very interested in applying to MIT after my a levels. I know that ecs are very important. However, my ecs are just bad and I don't have any prizes and neither have I won anything. I was in the chess club and Chinese society when i was in form 4 n 5. So that's basically for my secondary school ecs. The thing now is that I need some advice on what ecs should i do during the 1.5 years of a levels studies. Should i continue the ecs I have done during my secondary school or should I join maths and science clubs? I do like maths but due to certain reasons I wasnt able to join the maths club during my years in secondary school.
I know my chances of getting into MIT is like 1 in a zillion but i would still like to maximize my chances and give it a shot.
Thx in advance and I really appreciate all the advice and suggestion given. =D

Do what you love and love what you do! That is the best advice for ECs :-). Truly, just find things that you want to do and do them well, be passionate, be happy.

Well I am not a TV guy or something but I heard that line before “Do what you love and love what you do!” … isn’t it ??

^I agree. The people I know who’ve been accepted to MIT didn’t just do ECs to try to impress the school.

Thx guys for all the advices. Really appreciate them =D
