Advice on ECs

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize in advance if I should have posted this somewhere else, but since Princeton is one of the most, if not the most selective college, I thought it'd be best to post here. (if I should have posted this somewhere else, please tell me in your reply and I'll move it).

What would look better on a college app: Science bowl (probably would be at least 3rd or 2nd place in the state on a team of 4, and not being the team captain), or founding the club and being president of the club for two years? I will hopefully have started 2 other clubs (all science related, one also comm serv related), being president of both, so would starting another and being president seem redundant/ would it not seem realistic to colleges? Since I'd have two other clubs which I'd have to run, as well as after-school sports, I can't do both, so which would be more beneficial to me?

Thanks!

I don't know how they would investigate clubs at high schools all over the country, so i'm guessing that founding clubs and saying they were succesful (even if they only have like 3 members) would look good. I know someone who founded a technology association that had very few members but still looked good on his app. I wish I had founded a club sophomore year, but i guess i'll just have to settle with founding and leading a club for 2 years like you plan on doing. I don't know much about science bowl but i would start clubs that are oriented to BOTH specific interests and learning. Starting a chess club at your school, imo, would not look that significant.

Well I did Science Bowl for three years, so I've gotta give it a plug. I don't think that founding three clubs will be significantly more impressive than founding two, and SciBowl is tons of fun. What state do you live in? There's a big difference between 3rd place in Virginia and 3rd place in Idaho. My team got first place in TN my junior year, and we went to nationals. It was pretty sweet, and I highly recommend it.

Sorry it wasn't replied to for a couple of days, so I didn't pay attention to it. I live in Hawaii, so I'm not sure how impressive it would be.
