Does anyone think east will still be available in like two weeks? Just wondering cuz that's when I'll be making final decision.

yeah i think so, call the admissions office and ask them, tours are still being given till april i believe.

Since West is the oldest housing complex, is it essentially the crappiest? I'm curious cause I was going to request West.

Also as my second choice I can't decide between South and Pollock. Aghhh.

I just came back from an admitted students event at Penn State...and I visited West Halls (I have requested that as my first choice). I liked them much better than the freshmen dorms....bigger etc. The buildings are older but that means they're built solid. Freshmen dorms are apparently louder ...all the furniture is nailed down to the floor so you can't move them around etc.

is PSU really worth attending? Not that I think it's a bad school

I just can't decide where to attend. urg..

PSU vs. UW vs UIUC?...

My son asked for East because he wanted to be with all freshmen thinking he's make friends and everyone would be in the same boat. Turned out not to be a good decision.

Being in dorms with kids from other years is beneficial in terms of getting advice, forming closer friendships, and having potential mentors.

Yeah, everything I hears says that East is pretty crazy. Go with South or West or a special living option. And yes, having upper class students around for mentors works well.

Yeah, I really don't want to be stuck in east... Hoping for west or pollock.

My current freshman D & chosen roommate requested East for freshmen year and they both hated it. So after pledging a sorority and being initiated, they moved to the sorority floor in Pollock for second semester. They both love Pollock and recommend it highly. East was just too far away from everything (classes, town, etc.), except it is close to the Creamery and intramural building.
