Advice on getting a 30!!

I've done Kaplan but I'm still having trouble with the math and science sections. Any last minute advice for me? The test is sooo soon. I've done studying so hopefully my composite will go up from last time in june (26, gah).

Superscored I had a 28 (even though it doesn't matter)...
here are my scores superscored

E: 30
M: 26
R: 29
S: 25

Gahhhh. I've taken practice tests, and my science and math scores are not budging. My science is more stubborn than my math...it's been consistently my lowest score (21, 25, 22) Should I just focus on math & english at this point since they are the easiest to improve on supposedly? And try to get them up high?

Thanks everyone.

errrr don't use kaplan....i know the test is near but go on the act site and buy the online prep for 15 dollars or even the real act book
the online prep includes 2 real previous tests and the real act guide includes 3
i've heard PR is about the next closest thing to the real test
kaplan is usually much easier than the tests

Jaesango, y do u suggest not to use kaplan?
and I heard that kaplan is harder than the real test

^Actually, I have been taking Kaplan tests for a while and just took a test from the Red book. Guess what? The Kaplan test compared to the real ACT test was way easier! The only reason people say it's hard is because it's grading scale is harsh; the real test material is easier!

yikes...that is.....not good lol

when you prepare for any test, go straight to the source itself rather than some company that tries to imitate their questions

Kaplan is good for reading.. the passages are longer and the questions are a little more in depth... so timing will be improved by a nice margin... other than that, kaplan isn't the best.. but it's better than mcgraw-hill (not hard to do that though...)

the red book and PR are the best to use (esp. PR for strategies)..... Barron's is also good if you feel like getting your butt kicked (it does make the real thing seem easier though... and it's got many many many pages of strategies in it)

I really liked the Kaplan review book for the English and Reading Sections. Helped me improve my overall score from a 26 to a 30.

yeah, kaplan's good for that (not so much on math and science though)... if you really want to buff up your english score, get barron's.. i missed 18-20 in barron's consistently... 36 on the english section on the real thing.. so barron's english section makes the real act english section seem like a joke

My daughter thought the ACT online prep was rubbish. She gave up on it and used PR and the real ACT. She ended up with a 32.

The science section was always her worst section. One time she took the ACT and got between 32-35 on the other sections and a 25 on the science. She's a science major!

Yeah, the science section dominates me too.

@Peytoncline, how good is Barron's science? I just took my first science practice section on Barron's and missed like 15 out of 40...oh man...and also how good is Barron's reading sections? Since I'm trying to improve my reading and science to 33's by next Saturday...

Thanks!

all of barron's tests are really hard... i wouldn't sweat it too much if you miss a lot.. just hope that after you do barron's and you do a much more accurate book that you don't miss as many on that

I don't agree with taking tests that are too hard compared to the real test. Sure, it might make the actual test seem easier but what's the point of taking hard and indepth questions you'll never see on the real test? It might just lead you to believe the actual test is that hard and focus on the types of questions that aren't even on the test.
