Is it a good idea to go for a single freshman year??? I'm applying for FYE (Turman) and all they have left is singles. But I'm thinking if I have a single there it won't be too lonely because of all the activities the halls and building will be doing. Plus I hear all the single dorms are together?

I’m pretty sure the deadline for applying to FYE was almost a month ago… Anyway, the only disadvantage of having a single, imho, is that you won’t have a roommate. Do you want a roommate?

haha dude there are no more singles left, I had requested a single, but got a double, now I have requested a room change 3 weeks ago, and none are left.

nope. they just sent out an email today to a group of kids who qualified originally for FYE, but didn’t get in cause of stuff like preferences. i got one too

If you choose a single in New Turman, you’ll be surrounded by doubles. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, if you are social with your hall it’ll be fine, and once you settle into things you’ll find that having a single is a lot more convenient than having a double.

Just got assigned a single in Turman! Hopefully it’ll turn out ok. I just talked to someone who was in Turman last year and she said the FYE isn’t too organized and that there isn’t much done with the program. Anyone know anything about that? I know it’s pretty new but still…

Those buildings haven’t even been around for a full year. I’m pretty sure programs like FYE take some time to fully project. Plus, I wouldn’t worry about it; you’re in one of the best buildings! Be happy!
