Advice on how to handle a difficult math class

My S, a freshman Engineering major at Cal, said his Multivariable Calculus class is the “most demoralizing class that he’s ever taken”. For him it’s not the proofs, but the applications.

This could be a problem, since a lot of Engineering is basically applied calculus.</p>
