Hi! I am a freshman in high school and new to this College Confidential, so I apologize for any mistakes. I will be choosing my sophomore year classes very soon, and here are two paths I planned out. Please let me know why you think, any advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated
- Junior year I take AP Literature, AP World History and AP Chinese. Junior year I take honors chemistry and AP chemistry my senior year, and I take regular math. Side note -- Would it be fine taking an AP class senior year? Would I still get credit for it? Also, it is okay if I take no advanced math classes? I am really struggling in my current math class, Algebra 1. I got an A this semester, and an 80% in my math final, for extra clarification. I chalk up the A to making sure my homework is always turned in, retaking any 'smaller tests' till I get a near perfect grade.
- Since I am in Chinese 3, I was thinking if I studied hard over the summer, I would be able to skip a level and be in AP Chinese my sophomore year, and 'get it out of the way', making room for another class my junior year. During my junior year I take AP Literature and world history. My school offers this program where I take two math classes back to back in one year, so I move up a level. If I did this, I would be able to take 2 of the previously mentioned APs, and 2 APs my senior year -- AP calculus or stats, and AP chemistry.
Thank you!
