Advice on r

I'm planning on writing one about my activities and awards so that I can explain them a bit more (with 1-2 sentences) since the common app has VERY limited space. But since it is not required will admission officers even bother to read it? I don't want to burden or bore them to death so how should I go about doing this? Does anyone have any good advice both content and layout wise?

Thanks! ;)

Of course they will read it, but do not bore them with ANY information that has already been stated. Try searching for this topic on the forums and you’ll find a lot about this… some people recommend activity sheets, others say nothing at all… but it probably depends on your specific situation. How much is unsaid in the actual app?

It sounds pretty boring to me. Seriously. Why don’t you pick one and write a whole additional essay on it and stuff that into that section? My son did that, and had great success last year.

EDIT: You can use contractions and limit words in the very limited space they offer for details on activities and awards. Instead of saying “I was the best juggler they had ever had in 30 years”, you could say “Best juggler in 30 years”.
