I took the SAT Math 2 test the beginning of this month (june), using Barron's and Collegeboard to prepare and just finished the IB Math SL class. I just looked up my score and saw I got a 720. This was disappointing since I thought I did pretty well and always thought I had somewhat advanced math skills (going into Calculus BC next year). I was aiming for 750+, maybe even a 800 (though that doesn't seem very realistic anymore).

I was thinking of retaking the test in October so I have the summer to study and it wouldn't interfere as much with school (I'm going to be a junior by the way). Anyway, for those with experience how would I improve my score to 750+. Is it even realistic to still hope for a 800? I'm planning to apply to very competitive science/engineering schools (MIT/ Caltech/ Stanford/ etc.)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! desperate
