ADVICE!! on submitting all test scores...

Let's say I'm applying EA. I have a 35 ACT, but two of my three SAT2s are near the 70th percentile. I am taking SAT2s again in November.

There is notice saying that EA students do not have to submit SAT2 scores for EA:

Given the Early Action deadline of November 1, the Committee on Admissions recognizes that applicants may not be able to meet the SAT Subject Test requirements. Those candidates are welcome to submit an Early Action application, and the application will be considered complete and reviewed in its entirety. Candidates applying under the Early Action plan who have not yet taken three Subject Tests should still register to take the tests in the event they are deferred from Early Action to Regular Decision. If there are extenuating circumstances which prevent an applicant from submitting three SAT Subject Test scores, the applicant should provide a written explanation to the Committee on Admissions to be included with the application.

But Georgetown also rejects the score choice option:

Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT or SAT Subject Tests.

If I apply EA is it possible for me to not submit any Subject Tests? Or should I wait until RD and submit my better ones?

Any thoughts?

If they reject score choice, I believe you do have to submit your subject tests even if you are applying EA. This is a really tough question… and I’m afraid I can’t give a better answer. Sorry! You could try anonymously calling the school and asking if there’s any other options. If there’s no other option you really just have to decide if you believe your SAT2 scores will improve enough to make up for what you’re losing by not applying EA. Sorry if that was confusing. Good luck!

Thanks. Do you think there is a distinct advantage applying EA?

Personally I’m not a huge fan of EA or ED. I can see the benefit in some cases, but I also think its possible that the system could work against you since those applying EA/ED obviously have that particular school as their first choice and are usually the best and the brightest (aka that’s who you’ll be competing with for a spot). This probably won’t make much of a difference and there is a chance at deferral so you could get a second chance but personally I don’t think it’s worth it. Apply when you have the best shot of getting in - for you that would probably be regular decision. Hope that wasn’t too confusing!
