Advice On Transfer Chances

Hi, I am going to applying to Ohio State-Columbus and Transfer (Junior) For Fall 2011. I was wondering if any one could give me any advice on wether I will get accepted or not based on the following:

-Out Of State Transfer (Junior)
-56 Credits/46 GPA Credits (rest are taken as P/NP)
-Currently working on 18 credits for Spring Quarter
-2.95 GPA
-Applying for Health Profession Exploration Program
-Enthnicity:Asian

A couple of questions I have:
Do I have a chance?
Will they look and take into account my spring courses too, even though I dont have any grade for them yet?
I have all received a couple bad grades and repeated those classes and got A’s and B’s. Will this affect me?

Thank You
P.S. I really want to go to Ohio State!

bump anyone?

bump, anyone got any info/thoughts on my chances please?

Ohio State is super easy on transfer students, they used to automatically accept anyone with 45 credits and a 2.0 GPA a few years ago, now they’re only slightly more competitive - people on these boards have been accepted with 2.4’s.

Having said that, you have a very good shot and I would be surprised if you were rejected.

Thank You very much for replying Fizban, having about 2 years work experience should help. Do you think I need to submit a personal statement?

Thank You

Submitting a personal statement wouldn’t hurt, and yes work experience will help.

No need for a personal statement, I transferred with a similar GPA at the time and I received an acceptance letter quickly. I did transfer from a decent school though. What school are you coming from? Good luck to you.

How quick did the acceptance letter come? I sent my application at around Mar 22 and DHL informed me that my documents were delivered on Mar 25 (the status check site also said all documents were received).

Thanks for replying Provo, I am currently at one of the more higher ranked and more well known community colleges. Anyway my app is in and nothing left to do but wait. How important is only taking a few math/sciences as opposed to a lot?

I got 1 responce earlier but I’m in the same boat 2.72 GPA from Drexel University with about 80 some credits, what do you guys think? Also how long did it take to get a responce?

I waited about 3 weeks maybe, not sure but it was fast for OSU. Your previous class types are not taken into consideration, only your GPA and transferring school. In a school of 63,000+ they don’t have time to evaluate your whole history. Don’t worry about it so much, you will both get in.
