Well first of all I am an international student on UT Arlington.I am currently on freshman, but I am already thinking on transferring to a bigger/serious university in TX.Let's just say that UTA is a big commuter school with a lot of diversity, and the quality of students can easily be determined just by a simple walk outside.Very hard for a new person/out-of-state to even settle here.

Anyways,I thinking about either going for A&M or maybe UT Austin. But I need some recommendations from here on other good schools in TX.My current GPA does allow me to transfer to A&M(a friend of mine here did transfer with a similar GPA),but I have been hearing that it's not that welcoming for internationals like me(hint:color).

My GPA ain't that bad(3.2)but if needed, will stay for the summer till I improve before making the transfer.

Rice is in Houston. Baylor is in Waco (somewhere between Dallas and Austin). Southwestern is in Georgetown which is just outside Austin. If you want a vibrant life, Rice and Southwestern will do.

Anyway. It’s kinda real hard for you to get in Rice with 3.2 so it leaves you with only Baylor (which is not located nowhere near a big city) and Southwestern. They are private schools though. Very friendly to International Students but you will have to pay the big bucks.

If you wanna go for public schools then Texas Tech is not that bad. Other than that UT Dallas is also pretty ok.
