Advice on transferring from UCR to UCSD?!

Hey guys!

I want some feedback on my situation! :D

I'm a 1st year student at UCR but I really want to transfer to UCSD. I just finished my first quarter and got a 3.96 GPA. And technically, this quarter, I'm now a sophomore status (according to units).

I know I need to get rid of my breadth/GE requirements & I have about 56 units completed already. I'm also in the honors program and I am also a research assistant.

I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to set myself apart from other applicants? And I know that community colleges have priority & not many inter-UC transfers are accepted. What do you think my chance of getting into UCSD is?

Thanks!

I don't know the stats, but from what you're saying, your application does not seem unique because though your GPA is very good, your standardized test scores, recs, and ECs matter as well.

you're good. uc's dont look at sat scores and recs when it comes to transferring.

ccTransfer has no idea what he/she’s talking about. Standardized test scores and recs certainly do not matter, since they’re not asked for. EC’s might matter a little bit, but being a research assistant is a great EC. I would be very surprised if you didn’t get into UCSD.
