I started out at a four-year college, but I was suspended after freshman year for poor grades, my gpa was lower than a 1.0. Im currently enrolled at a community college, where I finished my first semester with a 4.0 gpa, and Im planning on finishing the academic year there. I do not know, however, what to do once this academic year ends. I could go back to my original college or I could apply to a new one. I have not paid off my old colleges tuition, and therefore they will not release any official transcripts until the debt has been paid back. If I can maintain a 4.0 this next semester, would it be wise to apply to a new school? If I apply to a new school, should I wait until I finish my second year at community college or can I transfer out after my first year? If I do transfer to a new college, should I even mention my original university, since they will not release any official documents?

In case the college I apply to wont take any of my course credits from my community college, would it make sense to apply as a freshman into either a 2 year or 4 year college in a different country, such as Canada, or would it be better if I transferred to another community college, one that the university you wish to attend has some affiliation with?

Thanks for any help.
