I have already submitted application to McGill (biochemistry major) as an international student from China. I know that they do NOT require SAT scores for Chinese applicant, but since I will NOT attend China National University Enterance Examation (McGill normally require the score for Chinese applicant), shall I submit my SAT scores to them as a reference?

My profile:

GPA 4.0, TOEFL 104, President of school choir, which won internation championships.

My SAT:

SAT1 2000 :( ( CR 590 + Math 800 + Wr 610)
SAT2: MathII 800 + Physics 800.

Question:1. Shall I submit my SAT scores? will this scores a plus or negative?
Question 2. McGill seems need no essays. If I email them one essay (not too bad one I wish), will they take a look? will it help?

also chance me please.......... Thanks!

i think this really depends on your rank, your grades, and essentially, your transcript overall…mcgill doesn’t require any list of activities/resume type thing that most schools in the United States do. you have a relatively good shot though - your SAT scores should help you for the most part, although your critical reading and writing scores are a bit on the low side for them. go to their website [McGill University](http://www.mcgill.ca) and look at the requirements for SATs. as for an essay…i would not send it…i think mcgill wouldn’t appreciate it as they have many many applications going through at this time…and their admissions site says that they pretty much make a decision based off of your transcript. good luck though!!

thank you indeed, shootingstar.

I checked the officialsite and they say that for USA student the minimum SAT1 is: 620 for CR, 610 for Wr… and if you are at +_ 5% range of this level, you can apply.

So my CR and Wr are right at the bottom for US students while my Math and science are on the high side. Will they don’t weight my Cr and Wr that much because I m a international student? Will my TOEFL help on that?

It seems that I SHOULD inform them my SAT scores…

since you are applying as a biochemistry major, they will look at your science and math grades and scores more…it seems unlikely for them to attribute your low reading/writing scores to your international status though.

well, your SATII’s are obviously going to what they want to see for someone going into your major.

i would certainly send them! :p

bingo !
I will do it. Thank you guys!
