Advice plz! I'm burnt out but will the summer be enough, if i study abroad?

Originally, I was planning to study abroad in the fall but the programs overlap with the summer session. And I hate to miss out on the summer session because the classes are easier and I really need that boost in my gpa atm but I'll have to sacrifice it either way if i want to study abroad. Im pretty burnt out and need time for me. just to relax and be school-free.

Options:
1) Study abroad in summer and fall session. Pros: Get a long time away from Berkeley classes, and credits don't need to be transferred so I can just live life. Cons: I miss out on the fall semester and now that I think about it, time is ticking and I kind of want to be here and meet people in my own grade level. IF I graduate a semester or two later, most people will probably be gone (like friends/most people in general, my age), I'm assuming...? Am I correct?

2) Study abroad in the summer only. It will be a 4 month break in that case. Will that be long enough do you think...? That way, I can take the fall semester here and be with people.

I remember seeing some of your previous threads, and I really think you just need a nice, long break…but that is easier said than done I suppose.

I think the summer only would be best since, honestly, no matter how long the break is, you always wish it could have been longer and it all feels the same. If you come back after a long break, and all your friends are gone, you may just dislike it here even more, or you might just hate going back to the grind after getting a taste of freedom. You can also get out of school that much faster, if that’s what you want.

ooh thank you! That makes sense. Right now, it seems like 3-4 months isn’t much or like it would just be nice to think of the IDEA of being away for an ENTIRE SEMESTER. But it’s not ideal for me to miss that much time and I don’t want to be missing out on social life here. I suppose a summer would be enough time off.
