Advice Request

Hello,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this forum. I am a freshmen at the Drexel/Drexel BS/MD. I just want to give my 2 cents on this topic.

First off, I will admit that Drexel Med is certainly not the best. I volunteer at the lab in the hospital (Hahnemann) and will not hesitate to tell you that it is pretty run-down. Compared to HUP (Penn’s hospital), Hahnemann looks like crap. But the fact is that there are plenty of opportunities around you if you look hard enough.
Second, being guaranteed into med school is a great feeling. Many of my non BS/MD classmates are doing a ton of EC’s just for the sake of buffing up their resume. In the mean time, I’m enjoying what I like to do. Don’t get me wrong, classes are still pretty challenging. I still put in a considerable amount of work toward studying, though not as much as I did in high school.
Third of all, Drexel Med will make you become a doctor. To me, that’s all it matters. Plus, if you look at the match list this year, you will see that 3 people matched into neurosurgery. That’s pretty damn impressive. Drexel Med is what you make of it. Don’t let it stop you from achieving what you want to be.

P.S. MiamiDAP you should really stop talking about your “D”. Every chance you get you start bragging about your “D”. Not even my mom is that obnoxious.

^Couldn’t have said it better myself. Congrats on the guaranteed seat, btw!
