Advice requested...

I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation... I am a Navy brat and am currently starting my senior year at my fifteenth different school. We have never lived anywhere longer than 3 years. (Many much shorter). I actually currently live on the yard (for the past two months). My first question is who do I seek my nomination from? My fathers home of record, the Maryland congressmen or do I pursue a VP/Presidential nomination? My next concern is my GPA. My GPA has suffered with the moves. I would leave a school mid-semester where I would be enrolled in Biology and get plunked down somewhere else where I would be expected to pick up mid semester in Chemistry. Same situation for my math classes. Even with that, I came one-half credit away from being able to graduate at the end of my Junior year. I am active in varsity sports, held offices in student government, participated in numerous clubs, attended American Legion Boys State and am extremely well traveled. Any feedback or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Apply for nominations from the Representative amd two Senators from your father's home of record. You should also apply for a Presidential nomination.

Your particular situation concerning frequent moves and the impact that it has had on your academics is something that your BGO should include in his interview report.

Would also mention your moves in your application. Do not overlook the value of your travel experience- perhaps you could talk about them in your personal statement- and the challenges you faced as a result. Moving that frequently does have an impact- and no doubt the admissions board will recognize and appreciate that. Highlight the positives- and how you overcame some of the challenges. You never know!

Best of luck!

TRVLR,

I wouldn't worry about your GPA, in the end I think your SAT/ACT scores will play a much bigger role in determining your eligibility. If you've got some solid scores to show, I think it will be much easier to point to the combination of moves and grades as something they should not be concerned about during the course of your review. My son didn't even have a GPA, his school did not give grades or even rank students so it can be done. There still is some time left if you have/want to retake the SAT/ACTs to improve your scores. Good luck.
