Advice to a fellow Freshmen

First of all I'll like to apologize if this is the wrong section for my question. If so, then if a moderator can move it to where it belongs, I would really appreciate it. Anyways lets first start by saying that I'm a freshman in High School. One of my dream colleges is Harvard. Yes I know that there's no magic number of sports, classes and etc. that you should take. I also know that it takes a lot of work and effort to get in, which I'm willing to do and have been doing. For example standing out from ever other student that's applying. How can I make myself stand out? However I'll also like to know any advise that you would give to a freshman that wants to go to Harvard or a Ivy League College. Advice that would help me keep going and excel even more. If you could change or done something differently in your high school years, what would it be? If there was one thing you had to tell a freshman that wants to go to a good college, what would that be? Also if there's anything else that you would like to add, that would also be helpful. Again any responses are appreciated and thank you.

Why do you want to go to Harvard? It is most likely because of the prestige since almost everyone is in that boat freshman year. Before you go researching Harvard to just reply to this post, don’t. You will find schools that will appeal to you more in a few years . Your situation will change and you will change what you want to do.

My advice to you, however, is to do what you like and enjoy high school. Don’t look for things that would just make you stand out. Being passionate in something you actually like would be better looked upon. Try different things at first, and then focus on something.
