How can I better my chances? Thank you (:

UniversityTalk:
Last October, you posted many chance-me entries, and they all had the wording:

Then in all of them you went on to describe the activities you were engaged in during your 12th grade.

Now you’re posting nearly a cut-n-paste of all those year old posts.

My questions are:

Did you graduate HS already and are now taking a year off?

Or are you now a HS senior, and you were less than truthful last in your posts last year?

Despite your shady past I don’t see you getting in. Tests scores are low, not that many difficult courses, nothing great about your ECs either.

Dear UniversityTalk : First, we are glad that you did “good” on the Math I and Math II exams, but we would have preferred that you did “well” on the English exams. Be sure to consider your usage since an error such as this in the essay section is considered to be a major faux-pas.

Your weighted GPA at 4.05 feels like it might be outside of the Top 10% in your current class - which will in turn be an issue on the numbers. From a curriculum strength perspective, we are missing advanced sciences, history, English, and foreign language (advanced = advanced placement or college level courses). If your school is as competitive as you suggest, this will imply that your course selection is even further behind the top course offerings at your High School.

The ice hockey could be a hook if you are a top level player being recruited for an NCAA Division I Collegiate Hockey program.

Your extra curricular activities are complete - and we would normally ask questions on leadership and community impact at this point. However, we are sufficiently concerned on your academic rigor that we do not believe that the other elements will matter at this point. Overall, we fear that the academic rigor and performance could well be short of the mark.
