advice..

I have a question.. So my situation is that I no longer live with my parents because of them being abusive, and so I was wondering if there are any programs in which students can live in northfield while not in school( summer breaks, winter break, etc). Does carleton have anything of this manner?

You can stay in on-campus housing over winter and spring break. You do have to pay for your own food over these breaks, as the dining hall aren’t open; however, a lot of international students who don’t want to fly all the way home , as well as a lot of athletes or people working on campus, do opt to stay over breaks. Over the summer, I’m not sure how the housing situation works - I know a lot of people rent apartments in Northfield, though.

There’s summer housing too. Lots of people stay - I am always here over spring break and work on campus. Also, some seniors who have Northfield Option will look for people to sublet their apartments/houses over the longer breaks. :)

Thnaks guys, really helpful. Hopefully I meet some of you guys at Carleton

I honestly believe the college will be exceptionally helpful in this situation. I think you should be able to get a job with the college over the summer and just stay the other two breaks. (When you have a job with the college in the summer you can get housing or its is really pretty cheap to sublet one of the houses that the students rent during the year.)

Yup, jobs are plentiful during breaks as a lot of offices still need to be up and running while the rest of the students are home.

You usually have to pay a small fee for living on campus but they are much much better than hotel/renting an apartment. Break housing is available for all breaks.
