Advices to the new Washu's parents

I think it would be helpful if the experienced parents give some advices to the new Washu family members, the freshmen parents, from life in campus to how to deal with separation anxiety and visits to the students.
My two cents here, your son/daughter is already a college student, leave him/her to deal with their own problems. be a listener, be patient.
Food is great until they are homesick, don't worry, they eat anyway.
Roommates are wonderful the first weeks, don't worry if any fight gets in the middle, they work out better without parents involved.
Books are to be read, they would get that very soon.
If they don't call, they are fine and busy.

Please, feel free to give any advice you think it would be needed and don't forget the shopping and flight fares tips.
