Advising Help?

I’m a freshman (Theatre major) with 28 credit hours - I will have 41 at the end of this semester. I’m hearing a lot of talk about having to meet with an advisor before we can register. I haven’t received any information from the University itself about this - it’s all been through word of mouth. I checked DegreeWorks and I don’t even have an advisor listed there. I’m not sure who to contact or where to start.

Here is the advising website for Arts and Sciences. It has information on how to set up an advising session. If you are not sure who your adviser is there is a link for you to look it up.

[Get Advised | College of Arts & Sciences](http://www.as.ua.edu/home/advising/get-advised/)

Check out some of the other links on this site. There is a FAQ section that may answer some of your questions.

Also, here is the info on how advising works. Because you are a freshman with less than 30 hours, you will meet with an advisor from the school of A&S and not a faculty advisor:

Remember that only your completed credits are what go towards determining your reg date/time. Your current coursework is never considered when determining your status for reg purposes. Here is the timetable for advising, by status, specifically for Spring 2014: [url=<a href=“http://registrar.ua.edu/services/mystudent/registration-and-advising/spring-2014-registration-and-advising/]Spring”>http://registrar.ua.edu/services/mystudent/registration-and-advising/spring-2014-registration-and-advising/]Spring 2014 ?
