How do we get an advisor to help us with our schedule next year? Do they email us after we mail in our acceptance. I mean, I want to double major, so I don't know what classes I need to take from both disciplines (BME and Econ)

You will get assigned to a pre-major advisor when you arrive on campus. They are generally professors in areas that are of interest to you (based on your application or other forms that you fill out once you're accepted). They can generally help with scheduling, course selection, major/distribution requirements, etc.

If you're in Pratt, you get a separate advisor based on your major, I think. Once you declare a second major, you'll probably have a departmental advisor in that department too.

Basically, you go ahead and bookbag/register. The drop/add period doesn't end until about 2-3 weeks into classes, so you have time to meet with your advisor before your schedule is finalized. You could also email them over the summer, which is what I did.

You will be asigned an advisor before arrival, and the Friday before classes start, there will be set meeting times, including one group session for all BMEs. In terms of the double, the Econ department was a great web site, and you can also meet with their major advising folks to help combine the BME and Econ. Also, you will get to know Dean Extraordinaire Connie Simmons - she basically makes the school run with respect to undergraduates...

How can I get in contact with her?
