This question is directed at any AEM major currently enrolled or anyone with direct experience to the program.

How would you describe your education so far? How difficult has the school work been? How often to you get free time? And how often do you sleep a night? Pretty much anything you can tell me about the education would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Also, how would you compare that education with the education at Stern?
Thanks!

I picked AEM over Stern. I just finished my first year and only one business class is really required so far (AEM 1200 Business Management). It’s pretty easy, the CALS requirements are a joke and all AEM majors take the easiest ones. Sleep? Lol, as any college student will tell you, just space out your work. I got over a 4 GPA (nuff said)

freshman year is easy no matter what major you are. I just finished sophomore year and the classes were fairly challenging. you have to study and go to class to do well in them.

mexicandelight, would you mind posting your freshman classes?

I’m in CALS’s SNES but I wanted to perhaps double major in something from AEM. How hard would this be?

Or… should I just transfer to AEM? I’m still confused on what I want to do career-wise so I have no idea what to do for my freshman schedule!

How challenging each year is depends on what classes you’re taking. I’m an AEM major too, but I don’t have an inflated GPA because I took a tricky math course and a language this past year. I can’t speak for most AEM courses since I’ve only taken 1200, which can be pretty arbitrary in some regards.

GummyChoco, you could probably easily double-major in SNES and AEM. you need to apply to be a double-major in AEM. you can at least try to work out something with the undergraduate advising in AEM next semester: they can tell you which classes you need and how feasible a double major would be for you, so you will have that advantage when applying.
you should probably try to take CALS requirements and also any intro SNES courses that you would need to take so you don’t fall behind if you want to stick with that.
