I'm going into CoE, but am more interested in entrepreneurship in the future. As a result, i wish to have some sort of education involving business/econ.

In CoE you can do a minor in AEM, but you can do a major in Econ. Which one is better?

Why wouldn't you just major in OR and not minor in anything?

Economics is a Liberal Arts degree. I'm an Econ major, and we basically learn about the economy. You can study the eocnomy as a whole (macro) or individual aspects (micro)...we also learn policy and theory. Some advanced classes in Econ can get pretty theoretical.

AEM = Business, a pre-professional degree rather than Liberal Arts. Business majors study things like Marketing, Finance, Accounting, etc. My boyfriend's a Business major (not at Cornell) and it seems like Business is basically simple applied econ, along with other stuff. It's common for Business majors to study things like Finance, Marketing and such, but as an Econ major, I'm not even planning to study those subjects at all.

It sounds like Business (AEM) minor might be a better fit for you...just my opinion.

StarGazer I'm taking AP Macro right now in high school, if you took it in high school, how does the course load compare?

Macroecon here was a JOKE.

Actually, all intro econ here is a joke.

Oh i'm sorry, I should have clarified that I'm just a Cornell applicant like you.
yeah I took AP Macro in HS and it was pretty easy, an easy A. AP Macro is basically the equivalent of a basic Introduction to Macro course in college. AP Macro also involves basically no math (unless you count addition/subtraction lol) and most of my college Econ classes require Calc as a prereq, and also a lot of Stats.
