Aeronautics for women

Hey,

I am currently a rising sophomore at an all women school ( Mount Holyoke college). I just realized that i want to do aeronautical engineering and i am considering transferring. The problem is i dont know where to transfer. I have a GPA of 3.9 and an excellent academic record but not so great SAT scores. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Thanks

If OP does not mind transferring to a large public university?!

$20 Million Donation for Space Research

The Ohio State University received an anonymous donation of $20M to address “Research in Space Exploration”. The exceptional gift will fund student fellowships and two talented chairs, the John Glenn Chair and the Thomas Jefferson Chair.

The John Glenn Chair will support a faculty member in Ohio State’s College of Engineering working on propulsion technologies for orbital payload delivery, interplanetary transport, and power systems for space travel or for moon or planetary bases. The John Glenn Chair will be located in the Aerospace Engineering Department. The Thomas Jefferson Chair will support a professor in Ohio State’s College of Mathematical and Physical Sciences studying grand-scale space exploration within the Center for Cosmology and Astro-Physics or within the Planetary Studies Initiative.

Aeronautical and Astronautical Research Laboratory (AARL)

The Aeronautical/Astronautical Research Laboratory (AARL) is an aerospace engineering research facility operated by Ohio State University. It is the principal research facility of the College of Engineering’s Department of Aerospace and Astronautical Engineering. It is located on the grounds of Ohio State University Airport, in Columbus, Ohio.

The most prominent area of research at AARL is jet engine test cell design. Under the patronage of GE Aviation, Ohio State Engineering has been at the forefront of jet engine test cell design for over 25 years.

The AARL houses numerous other research facilities, including the Mechanical Engineering Department’s Gas Dynamics and Turbulence Laboratory(GDTL) and Gas Turbine Lab. GDTL works cooperatively with NASA Glenn Research Center and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base researching aeroacoustics and high reynolds number flow related to propulsion. The Gas Turbine Lab is an R&D laboratory that focuses on the development of gas turbine aircraft engines and has an annual budget of over $4 million.
