Aerospace Engineer Options in Georgia

Hello, I am from Georgia looking to major in Aerospace Engineering, however as I have looked at schools, many preferred schools are out of state except GA Tech. My parents would like me to look at other in state schools to possible do my first 2 years at and then transfer to one of the preferred schools that actually offer Aerospace Engineering programs. Any other suggestions of Georgia Schools? Also any other degree areas that may encompass some of the same course works as my interested Aerospace Engineering path.

All aerospace companies hire Mechanical Engineers in addition to Aeros. Look into that major (there are frequently some aero class options available under Mech).

I’m a assuming you want to stay in GA due to the Zell Miller scholarship - Univ of North GA in a Dahlonega has a 3-2 or 2-2 program w/ GT as does Georgia State and I believe GA Southern may as well.

A lot of GA ZM/Hope scholarship kids are at Auburn and Alabama on academic scholarship… Could get into UGA Honors College but not GT even in top 25 of their spread. If you want D1 football and a real college experience - check outside of GA, smart kids are getting $ at OOS schools. The engineering is still very good.
