Aerospace Engineering at CU-Boulder

Does anybody know if the University of Colorado at Boulder has a good Aerospace Engineering program?

It's ranked #17 by US News out of 60 ABET-accredited aerospace engineering programs in the country.

Thanks for the info... for some reason, I couldn't find that statistic on the US news site even though I have paid access.

Does anybody know anything else about it? I'm desperate for info here...

Do you have a list of the top 60??? I want to study aerospace engineering too, cant think of any other major that suits me better. I was looking at that school as a safety in case i dont get into the Air Force acam. Do you recommend any other good schools???

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is definetly the place you want to go if you want to get hired, you have a very good chance of getting a job if you go there, they are #1 in aerospace. But their average GPA/SAT is 3.3/1150, and that's definetly not impressive, especially if you were choosing CU as your saftey, though I don't know if you care much about that.... CU's engineering school averages are 3.7/1270, and that's pretty good. The United States Naval Academy in MD and Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo also rate very high. I'm still trying to find the top 60 list.

There are 60 ABET-accredited Aerospace Engineering programs in the country, but US News only ranks the top 20:
1. MIT
2. GTech
3. Michigan
4. Purdue
5. Caltech
6. Stanford
7. Illinois
8. Princeton
9. Texas
10. Maryland
11. Washington
12. Cornell
13. Texas A&M / Berkeley
15. Penn State / UCLA
17. Colorado-Boulder
18. Ohio State
19. VaTech
20. Florida

Non-PhD:
1. Embry-Riddle (FL)
2. US Air Force Academy
3. Embry-Riddle (AZ) / US Naval Academy
5. Cal Poly SLO

GA tech owns in Aerospace

Philly and Aerospace girl, I have a friend who's majoring in aeronautics and doing ROTC at Purdue.
I took an aviation class during high school and my instructors strongly recommend Embry Riddle and to stay away from the Spartan School of Aeronautics.

If you are strongly willing to go to a service academy go for it!!! Philly, I was in your shoes last year. I so wanted to go to the Naval Academy but I never thought I'd have a chance. I got accepted to the Naval Academy prep school so I will be at Annapolis next year, better late than never! Air Force also has a prep school so just go through the process and see what happens. I will be going for Aerospace at the academy but our major doesn't start until sophomore year. My physics instrutor graduated with a degree in Aero. there and she got recruited by NASA (turned it down because she decided to be a gunnery supply officer instead, weirdo).
Last year I also applied to UIUC for aero and Lewis University(Romeoville, Illinois) for Aviation management.

Weird.... why would anyone turn down nasa?? Anyways thank you for your response, i actually had MIT as a safety, but now im setting more realistic goals and my ultimate goal is to be in the Astronaut Program. I will be looking into Embry-riddle but The Air Force Academy has a Double-Major program which i think i might take Aero. ENg. along with Computers because i take computers at my school. CU-BOulder came to my attention after reading this:

Embry riddle has computer engineering/science also.

And thanks for the posts, everybody
