I will be an international freshman this fall and I am having trouble selecting between university of Minnesota twin cities and Wichita State University.
My major is Aerispace Engineering. On one hand U of M is ranked 11( for aerospace) while Wichita State is un ranked (us news), but on the other hand WSU is based in Wichita: the air capital of the world (and I have heard has good facilities in the aerospace department).
I have also been admitted to Purdue and Texas A&M, but the costs are proving to be a hindrance. Minnesota( with a scholarship) and WSU cost pretty much the same and is within reach.
I want to do my M.S. and maybe a phd after compleating B.S. Which University will be better for future studies? On a related note which will be better from the point of view of a career?
Also, undergraduate research, facilities, and teachers are my top priorities.
Any information will be of tremendous help. Thank you for taking the time and helping.

UMinn- twin cities.

yes U-Minn is the best

Don’t over think!! Just fill in the enrollment form for U Minnesota Twin Cities (If you’re not waiting for any other decisions!!)

As you want to do an MS after this, UMinn would be the automatic top choice!! It’s got great teachers, facilities, people - you only have to bear the cold! :p

Thank you for your replies. I can see that University of Minnesota is an overall favourite. However, I read somewhere that Wichita State has the third largest research budget for aerospace research. And it has several highly equipped labs at the National Institute of Aviation Research. Also the concentration of big aerospace companies at Wichita is undeniable. This internship oppertunities are aplenty. So does that translate to a better undergraduate program at Wichita?

Mr. Rohan De, Princeton and Cornell are better. ;)

Sure they are, but the question is do they think I am good enough for them? So on a realistic note I have to deal with what I can and honestly the finances are looking pretty bleak at the moment. Purdue is going to cost 25 lakh. A&M something close to that. UMN seems to be the only one within my 20 target. If its Cornell then the question is different and so is the answer.

UMinn twin cities is better than the other one. I got accepted to UMinn for fall 2013.
