I'm torn between WPI and U of M. Its such a hard choice. Both colleges have a great attributes but are so different at the same time.

WPI is small, unique, and theres great student-professor interaction. The profs really care about you, seek you out, and try to get close to students which is great. All that is great. However, I don't really know how good the AE program is. It's new, and used to be ME based, which I still think it is. Its a great technical school, but not so sure about the AE program.

UM on the other hand, has a great and respected AE program, which offers many more courses. The facilities for engineers are fantastic. Also, if I do good at UM as an undergrad, my chances to get into a good grad school will be very very high I think, higher than WPI. However, UM is very big and the student-professor interaction isn't as good. Professors don't care about students as much as they do at WPI since UM is quite research based and thats what most professors at a research school are interested in: research. You'd have to be a lot more pro-active at UM I guess in order to get help. Sometimes you have to settle for GSI's too.

In conclusion, both schools have good and bad attributes (for me). Where do you guys think I should go? Which school would be better for me? Does anyone know any 'insider' knowledge about UM or WPI engineering that might help me make my decision.

Thanks a lot for the help.
