Aerospace engineers?

Any undergraduate freshman get accepted for aerospace engineering? And if so how late did you submit your application. This is for regular decisions

I applied very early (October 23rd) and I haven’t heard anything yet either.

3.95 Weighted GPA
32 ACT
21+ hours of ECs per week

luckily i am not the only waiting. do you know if they release aerospace in waves? I’ve seen many aerospace engineers get accepted. I don’t know if it is for regular or early decision

I have been reading all threads for days ! Our son applied to Cal Poly SLO on October 1st for Aerospace Eng. He has a 4.17 GPA, 4 AP classes at the time of application, SAT 1970 (math 720). I have read of only 3 to get accepted on these threads as of last night. There has to be alot more to come. Good luck to everyone !!

I have no idea how or in what order decisions are released, but I hope they are soon!

Any Aerospace Engineers hear anything today ???

It was my safety school. :(

You have been placed on the waitlist at Cal Poly for Fall. You will be receiving a letter with more information very shortly.

My stats:
WGPA - 4.63
8 AP passed
SAT 2050
4 years Varsity Volleyball - Captain
President of 2 clubs

If seniorsfo got waitlisted I pretty much got rejected. When did you find out?

Today before 10 PM

Wow, that’s incredible.

Holy crap. That’s insane. I’m screwed!

Sent from my MB855 using CC

If you got waitlisted with those stats, I am so screwed…

Still no determination on my portal or any emails…

Don’t fret,

SeniorFo’s GPA, wGPA, etc, may not reflect your GPA…

Every school and district’s GPA weighting is different from each other. GPA is a number… but weighted against all GPA’s in the state may actually be higher or lower that the GPA number itself.

Best of luck to all of you.

In my district grade A = 4 points
Some honors and all AP = + 1 point

My UW GPA is 4.00 ( I have all A )

Said another way… let me give an extreme exaggeration to make my point…

Let’s say students at one school or district… while GPA’s are good… the aptitude of the students at that school are not nearly as sharp as the aptitude of students at schools applying to the same college.

Colleges know which schools have the most rigorousness scholastic competition… and which schools do not.

So… a 4.0 GPA at one school, may only equivalent to a 3.35 at another.

@VentureMan I agree with you. At the CC I go to, almost half of my classes were taught by UCLA professors. Cal Poly should be smart enough and also look at the faculty at each CC.

I agree that GPA is not equal from school to school.
But if I have A in AP class and passed AP test for 5, it means that my school is not bad.
Also SAT test score is everywhere the same.
How many kids can take AP Calculus BC in 10th grade, and passed with 5?
How many kids can have 8 AP classes as a junior with almost all 5 under their belt?
I think not many.
How many kids can qualify with AIME?
If I did, it means that my school is not bad.

Seniorsfo, I believe Cal Poly thinks they are your Safe school, with those scores you can get in anywhere. They wait listed you, and if you really want in than they will enroll you. Good luck.

Any Aerospace Eng. heard anything in the last 2-3 days ??? Still waiting …
