Arrived early!
I’m assuming congratulations are in order!
I think so. If they still offer in-state tuition to OOS students who receive AES. It didn’t say that in her letter. She’s NMSF so it won’t matter if she advances to NMF.
If you look at the FAQ page - it says in state tuition. https://www.utdallas.edu/enroll/freshman/aes/prospective-students/faq/
Thank you! I did not see this!
Where in Galaxy did you find it? DS20 is NMSF too with high SAT but couldn’t find any.
In the applicant center, there is a communications folder - that’s where I saw it.
They took them down! Maybe they were released too soon?
Thank you! That explains it. I hope.
I was getting quite concerned. I know that NMF gives them pretty much full ride, but NMF won’t be announced till February. I would prefer to have something in hand now just in case. DS20 really wants to go to UTD, and I am so ready to be done with the application process.
I’m curious why won’t NMF matter? The NM scholarship is better than AES and admission to the honors college is included. Most NMSF become NMF.
I would be very surprised if they didn’t offer in state tuition to OOS.
@tabbychiro I’m sorry - that was poorly worded! I meant that the AES award won’t matter if she advances to NMF.
Ah gotcha. Indeed it won’t. Congratulations to your daughter!
Anyone still seeing AES / other awards on Galaxy - I missed the “preview window”. Did they say what time Sunday would they announce / post?
My daughter is not seeing it anymore.
The AES awards are out and the amounts have changed from prior years. There appears to be 4 award levels: $16,000/yr, $13,000/yr, $10,000/yr and the last is $6000/yr. The top level would be close to full tuition plus $2000 to $3000/yr stipend. Tuition is quoted to be $6600 to $6900/semester.
Just posted this on the UTD 2024 thread.
Son received his too.Email was in box this morning.
$10,000 level.
1520 SAT
3.72 UW GPA
10 AP classes
AP Scholar with distinction.
His quote (w room/board) was $31K a year, so this knocks it down to $26K year if he stays on campus.
I received $13k a year/ $6,500 a semester.
Stats- top 4% out of about 750 in my class, 33 act, all A’s except for one high B on my transcript, 11 current and past AP credits, 4.12 weighted GPA, 3.8 unweighted, okay ECs & leadership.
My aid was 10,000 per year, 5k per semester.
My stats (that matter) were:
SAT – 1500
GPA – 4.2
A mouthful of AP classes.
Another data point – One of my friends had an SAT of 1580, and got only 12,000 per year, not covering even full tuition. Another one 1520, 11.5k per semester.
My Son got 16K/year with following STAT: 1530 SAT/36 ACT/ Top 1% in class/7 AP completed , 6 in Progress
Just an observation or a guess, it appears they are putting increased emphasis on class rank. The higher awards seem to be going to great scores with high rank, again just a guess.
