Has anyone received an AES award notification? How soon after an offer of admission should we expect one, if forthcoming? Thanks!

I sent them an email before and they said they don’t start reviewing students until late November. Based on the posts from last year, students will probably be notified by mid-December if they have already been accepted.

My oldest got her AES award notification in mid-December, but the year my middle daughter applied they didn’t let anybody know until early January.

Thanks, Packrat5000 and awintx for your replies.
Noted the following post this morning on the AES page:
The Academic Excellence Scholarship Program is currently reviewing all Fall 2015 first-time-in-college students who were admitted before December 1st. Students admitted after December 1st will be reviewed following the winter break. We encourage future Comets to explore all scholarship opportunities offered by the university.

I spoke with UTD scholarship office on behalf of my son, and they said the same thing. Reviewing applicant who got accepted prior to Dec 1st. Notifications will be going out end of December if not 1st week of Jan 2015.

Anyone heard from UTD on AES?

One dumb question. Do we have to “Accept” the admissions to view any financial aid?

You don’t have to accept admission to view financial aid. My son’s UTD account is showing an AES award. It was posted yesterday, 12/19.

@TXbandmomma Thanks for the response. Can you let me know what the stats (GPA, ACT…) are?

Hi Zubear - The stats are ACT 34, SAT 2100 - 1460 critical reading & math, GPA 4.57. Awarded the Achievement scholarship. Tough competition this year, I guess.

Got honors. Even though my stats aren’t the best.

SAT: 1360 CR+math
ACT: 33
GPA (unweighted): 3.86
Rank: 4 out of 575

ughhhhhh i want a scholarship…the wait is unbearable
